Bold & The Beautiful

Weekly Soap Opera Ratings October 15 to 19: DOOL Up, B&B Slips and Both GH and Y&R Drop Dramatically!

Soap Opera ratings were reported by Soap Opera Network for the week of Monday, October 15 through Friday, October 19, 2018. There didn’t appear to be any major interruptions nor any scheduled preemptions this week that would have affected the ratings in any way; so let’s see how all four of our beloved daytime soap operas did this week!

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

NBC’s DOOL is the only daytime drama that gained in ratings this week 50,000 in total viewership, 2,188,000 in total viewers. The NBC soap opera also rose 26,000 viewers among women 18-49. Sami (Alison Sweeney) finds the mystery Patient, who is able to call out her name; just as Eric (Greg Vaughan), Sami and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) agree to work together, despite their differences. Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) learns her beloved Brady (Eric Martsolf) deceived her.

Ciara (Victoria Konefal) remains conflicted over Ben (Robert Scott Wilson), giving Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) the idea to use Ben once again to get the guy she really wants – Tripp (Lucas Adams)! Gabi (Camila Banus) continues to manipulate the situation in order to get her frenemy Abigail (Marci Miller) committed into the psychiatric facility. Nicole’s hopeful about her future with Eric; but learns some devastating secrets at Kristen and Xander’s secret facility. Mimi (Farah Fath) confesses the baby is hers, just as Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) returns to Salem!

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

CBS’ B&B’s ratings dropped 55,000 total viewers leaving the CBS soap opera with 3,239,000 in total viewership; it did not gain nor lose any viewers among women 18-49 from the previous week. It was rather a calm week as Katie (Heather Tom) was kind to Bill (Don Diamont) after witnessing tender moments between him and their son, Will (Finnegan George); something that doesn’t sit well with Thorne (Ingo Rademacher. Wyatt (Darin Brooks) accepts a job offer from Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) no matter how suspicious he was about her motives.

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) has several confrontations as her kiss with Bill is revealed and both Ridge (Thorsten Kay), Hope (Annike Noelle) and Steffy are NOT pleased! Charlie (Dick Christie) proposes to Pam (Alley Mills), who later becomes concerned when Ridge demands that she tracks down Bill Spencer’s locations! What will Ridge and Thorne do once they locate Dollar Bill Spencer?

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

CBS’ Y&R lost 102,000 viewers compared to the week before, but still remains at the top of the ratings with 4,112,000 in totally viewership. The CBS daytime drama dipped a little, – 11,000 viewers among women ages 18-49. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) admits that Jack (Peter Bergman) is 100% John’s (Jerry Douglas) son, and she tampered with the DNA; shattering the already fragile Abbott family.

Billy (Jason Thompson) returns from rehab to utter mayhem and comes back for blood – He reveals to Summer (Hunter King), right in front of Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) that he only slept with her to get back at her mother. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!! Kyle (Michael Mealor) is torn between his past love, Summer and current love interest, Lola (Sasha Calle). Nick (Joshua Morrow) is jealous over Sharon (Sharon Case) being so close to Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and decides to dig into Rey’s elusive past. Dina (Marla Adams) lets it slip that she has a secret.

GENERAL HOSPITAL

ABC’s GH was definitely hit the hardest this week, with – 151,000 total viewers from the week before, totaling 2,338,000 in total viewership. However, the ABC soap opera was able to gain 8,000 viewers among women viewers between the ages of 18 and 49. It’s clear Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) are struggling to keep their marriage alive; but her best friend, Maxie (Kirsten Storms) tries to act surprised when she finds Lulu going out with Peter (Wes Ramsey) on purely a “Professional” outing.

Drew (Billy Miller) thinks over Margaux’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) offer, but ultimately declines to protect all his loved ones. Kim (Tamara Braun) finds comfort with Bobbie (Jacklyn Zemen), who shares BJ’s story. Liz (Recebba Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) finally sit down to hash out their issues together. Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton) are given an interesting tidbit that can help them force the DA to back off.

While Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) contemplate their future; TJ (Tequan Richmond) confronts his Aunt Stella (Vernee Watson) suggesting she uses her own words and start showing compassion and forgiveness herself. Will Stella ever be able to forgive Jordan and let Curtis be happy?

It has been a busy week for all four soap operas. How do you feel about the stories that happened this week and how would you rate all of the daytime soap operas? Please let us know what you think!
