Coronation Street is looking for new, creative writers to help create future storylines for the highly rated soap series. As a matter of fact, the long-running soap is looking for a few new creative storytellers to help create upcoming storylines.

If you have what it takes to come up with compelling story ideas, you can apply to be a new team scriptwriter. A lot of fans are calling this a once in a lifetime opportunity. A new advert from Coronation Street’s top execs states: “How would you like to work in the engine room of the world’s longest-running continuing drama? Coronation Street is always on the lookout for storyliners to join its talent pool and we are holding a workshop hosted by Alasdair Morrison – Story Producer and Lyndsay Williams – Story Editor for a chance for you to show us you should be the next Storyliner in our talented team.”

It goes on to say that story writers are asked to contribute ideas at conferences and create “engaging, compelling, detailed episodic storylines to an agreed vision.” The closing date for applications is February 6. Successful candidates will be invited to a special workshop session that will take place on February 26 at Coronation Street studios in Manchester.

What’s more, Coronation Street execs say that this is not a full-time opportunity. Instead, it’s a short-term freelance role. Only qualified applicants will be asked to join their team of writers during their special writing workshop in Manchester.
