This Is Us Takes Critics Choice Awards By Storm

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and Broadcast Television Journalist Association (BTJA) announced the Critics’ Choice nominations on Tuesday, December 11. It’s clear that This Is Us is still a favorite and scored a nomination in multiple categories.

This Is Us: Justin Hartley

Justin Hartley plays Kevin Pearson on This Is Us. He is one of the “Big Three.” He has struggled with addiction, being full of himself, and now s on a quest to get to know his father by investigating his stay in Vietnam.

The viewers are getting to know Kevin on a level they never thought possible. He is proving himself to be sensitive, loving, and caring. It’s a different Kevin from Season 1, who was self-centered, a brat, and incapable of a real relationship. The viewers are looking forward to seeing him grow in the coming episodes.

He will face off against Richard Cabral from Mayans M.C., Asia Kate Dillon from Billions, Noah Emmerich from The Americans, Matthew McFadyen from Succession, Richard Schiff from The Good Doctor, and Shea Whigham from Homecoming.

This Is Us: Milo Ventimiglia

Milo scored the best actor in a drama series nom for his role as Jack Pearson. Jack is the center of the show. In his family’s eyes, he was the glue that held them together and when he died, the family struggled to keep it intact. Rebecca (Mandy Moore) tries her best to be that glue, but as a grieving widow, it is hard to be the rock her kids needed.

Ventimiglia is a wonderful actor that deserves the award. However, he will face off against The Good Doctor’s Freddie Highmore, who is a clear favorite to take home the award. Other nominees are Diego Luna from Narcos: Mexico, Richard Madden from Bodyguard, Bob Odenkirk from Better Call Saul, Billy Porter from Pose, and Matthew Rhys from the Americans.
