This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia spoke to Today and revealed the first time (and only time) Jack Pearson made him cry on the NBC dramedy series. Right now, the show is halfway through the third season and, so far, this season has been jammed packed with powerful and emotional moments for Jack.

The moment happened in Episode 7. Jack and Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore) traveled to Los Angeles for her to meet with a record label. When they were on the road, they were getting to know each and they both figured out they were scared to let another person really know them.

Ventimiglia said when Rebecca returned from meeting with the record label and she didn’t get a contract, she was afraid he would be disappointed in her. Instead, he tells her he could never be disappointed in her if she did her best. That’s when she starts to sing to him. He noted the tears the fans saw on the show were real, as Milo thought of how touching that would have been for Jack.

What Makes Rebecca-Jack So Special

America has fallen in love with this special couple. Everyone has this idea that when you meet someone, you feel electric shocks and immediately you know they are the one for you. However, sometimes it doesn’t happen like that. For this couple, they have little something every day that told them they were meant to be together. They knew they were better together than apart.

They knew they couldn’t imagine life without each other. And, they deeply love and care about each other. For this on-screen couple, they loved each other and they knew they wanted to spend their lives together.
