The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor’s New Year’s Wish List – Family and Business Hopes Addressed

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has hopes and dreams like everyone else on ‘The Young and the Restless’. So it’s natural that he’s also made a New Year’s wish list.

Family is everything to Victor. Yes, it can be argued that he hasn’t treated the ones he loves with consistency. But life is subjective, so possibly his detractors have always been wrong.

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is the love of his life. He’s married other women and had children with two others. But ‘Niktor’ is the only pairing that ever made Victor truly happy.

The grand New Year’s Eve gesture that he made at the Ranch was well received by Mrs. Newman. The vows Victor offered at the renewal ceremony were sincere and touching. Nikki was deeply affected, as her husband had hoped. Yes, underneath, he arranged that ceremony in hopes of reviving their marriage, not just promoting a public relations front.

A real reunion between Victor and Nikki would go a long way in easing tensions with Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) as well. Father and son have been at loggerheads throughout most of 2017. Nick doesn’t realize it, but his dad has been protecting him since before Adam (Justin Hartley) died.

The Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity issue, which might be addressed through a current storyline where the little boy goes missing, is immense. Despite the cruelty that Nick believes he’s faced, Victor’s love for his son continues to keep Adam’s link to Christian contained.

Victor is getting along well with Vickie (Amelia Heinle), who’s recently returned to the fold at Newman Enterprises. Abby (Melissa Ordway) was hurt by the aforementioned development, but still loves her dad completely.

Newman Enterprises is moving beyond the Design Date disaster. Paul’s (Doug Davidson) foolish attempt to link Victor to that criminal front must fall flat because the ‘Moustache’ had no knowledge of the trafficking ring.

With all things considered, Victor’s hopes for 2018 are realistic. The flow of Y&R’s scripts will determine how many wishes one of Genoa City’s most prominent residents realizes.
