The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor Withholds Truth – Another Blowout Looms

Victor (Eric Braeden) said nothing to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While they were having what turned out to be a civil discussion about Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) in the living room at the Ranch, Victor again opted to withhold his knowledge of Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity from his wife.

When, not if, that information comes out Nikki will be put into a box. Should she, at that point, tell Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) what she’ll know? Doing so would only serve to further alienate the stubborn father-son duo. However, if Nikki keeps what she learns under her hat, then Nick could come to resent his mother as much as he does his father.

Leading into this coming dilemma was a nice set of scenes where Victor visited Nick at the Newman owned penthouse where ‘Chadam’ and, most recently ‘Chick’ lived. Victor was actually compassionate, offering proper empathy to his son who just lost his fiance and future stepson.

For his part, Nick budged. He was willing to hear his dad out, said that access to Christian on his terms was not a problem and let Victor know that he appreciated the offered goodwill gesture.

Later, at Crimson Lights, Nick confided to ‘Shyllis’ (the guilty pleasure pairing of frenemies Sharon, Sharon Case, and Phyllis, Gina Tognoni) that he hadn’t dropped his guard where Victor was concerned. Combine that understandable stance with him soon learning, through Nikki or another source that the ‘Moustache’ somehow knew Christian was Adam’s (Justin Hartley) son.

Yes, another Newman eruption would be seen in the future if that projected plot point comes to pass. However, Nick would surely ask his dad how he claimed to know that Adam was Christian’s genetic dad?

If all Victor did was speculate, then he would have had no reason to share that thought with Nick. But if the ‘Dark Knight’ had a DNA test conducted, as Nick just did, then a further relationship killer would exist.
