Victor (Eric Braeden) didn’t anticipate being attacked on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But the ‘Moustache’ was put in an extended vulnerable physical position when J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) left him for dead. However, that major life shift hasn’t altered Victor’s plans about bringing Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) father down.
What type of person uses another man’s son to work against his father? The ‘Black Knight’ that’s who. Kyle’s mind remains so conflicted with exaggerated contempt that he’s unable to reject being used by Jack’s (Peter Bergman) eternal nemesis.
It’s strange that Victor, the head of a worldwide conglomerate, would have his sights set on company that’s main emphasis is cosmetics. Jabot isn’t a threat to Newman Enterprises. The industry it excels in also doesn’t truly threaten Brash and Sassy. Plus, Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) addition likely means that Jabot will face growth challenges in the short- and longterm future.
On a personal level, ‘Niktor’ got back together in recent months. They reached a negotiated arrangement that allows their union to be open. If Victor were actually wise he would be focusing on improving that area of his life, instead of worrying about the currently named Mr. Abbott.
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) has often claimed Victor’s one true love and vice versa. Victor could prove to her during his period of recovery that he’s interested in Mrs. Newman’s interests alone. Why waste energy going up against a man he’s beaten on numerous occasions?

Jack hasn’t often been able to best Victor. In fact, it’s often been when he’s served as a nothing more than a distraction that Victor has gone off course.
This odd game isn’t ending any time soon, as Victor just instructed Kyle to regain Jack’s trust and continuing learning everything about Jabot that he can. The plan remains to use Kyle to crush his father. Apparently Mealor’s character doesn’t realize that he’s not only risking the permanent loss of any type of real relationship with his dad, but could easily face Victor’s eventual wrath himself as well.
