The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor and Nick Threaten Each Other – Family War On

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor and Nick Threaten Each Other – Family War OnVictor (Eric Braeden) collected dirt on Nick (Joshua Morrow) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While that evidence could send his son to the big house, Nick is proving to be a true rival for the ‘Moustache’.

Nick’s smile at Victor’s threat offered further evidence that Morrow’s character has turned dark. As Y&R fans know, the actor recently requested Nick’s change of course as he nears his twenty-fifth milestone cast member mark on the show.

The J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) ruse clearly broke many laws. Those acts alone provide Victor with plenty of evidence that he could use to send his son to prison. Combine that stance with the grudge Braeden’s character openly acknowledged he still harbors for Nick having reported him to the Feds earlier this decade and fans are right to wonder why Victor hasn’t already acted to stop his son?

In order to present a believably stretched storyline, where this particular father and son are equal rivals, Y&R will need to craft a series of connected conflicts that pull in other characters. Sure, Victor and Nick will be the main combatants, as one heads Newman, while the other is leading that conglomerate’s intended mission fulfiller. But teams of rivals must be built beyond the existing players to truly give this potentially intriguing arc jet fuel.

Nick has already poached a few Newman family members, meaning Noah (most recently played by Robert Adamson), who’s off-camera. The other, Abby (Melissa Ordway), has forged romantic ties with Arturo (Jason Canela), whose backstory will soon lengthen. That plot extension could add members to Nick’s team.

Victor continues to be supported by Victor (Amelia Heinle), who has again positioned herself to take over the company someday. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is Victor’s other ally, though her health status creates pause as to whether she’ll be able to withstand the stress of big business and a sustained family battle.

Y&R has never written Nick down to this level. He’s often been upset, which in the case Victor, led to him creating distance from his father. But the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity matter fully sparked Nick’s metamorphosis.

Nick has purposely engaged Victor. As of now, he’s beating the ‘Black Knight’. Though tenured GC observers know that Braeden’s character is ever-resilient and often, though maybe not in this instance, victorious, as his self-branded first name proclaims.
