Mackenzie (Kelly Kruger) is aiming for full custody of the two young children she and J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) have on ‘The Young and the Restless’. J.T. showed Vickie (Amelia Heinle) the legal letter he’d received by express mail. It appears that the current Mrs. Hellstrom’s legal reaction is a reaction to him living with Victoria. Yes, ‘JTV’s’ already tumultuous present appears to be leading to a bleaker future.
Daytime fans have been wondering how many weeks Vickie and J.T. have left as a couple. Luckinbill’s entrance statement, upon returning to the cast, revealed that his character’s storyline might only last until February or March.
As March arrives this week, Vickie remains committed to her former husband and revived love interest. But she doesn’t know that his heart issue is serious and that he’s working undercover to bring her father down.
Either issue or both combined could lead to J.T.’s exit. That departure could be permanent, meaning a tragedy happens and he dies, or happen if he opts to leave Genoa City after helping to put Victor (Eric Braeden) behind bars and seeing his connection with Vickie disintegrate.
Kruger is soon set to rejoin the cast. ‘Mac’ will apparently be returning to hash out the divorce and custody issue. It will be interesting to see if she is accompanied by the two child characters (Dylan and Becca).
Devoted viewers know that another Dylan (Steve Burton), was on Y&R from 2013-2017. So ‘JMac’s’ son is now referred to as D.J., apparently meaning Dylan Jeffrey, in order to distinguish this heretofore unseen character from the one that existed after Burton joined the cast. The J in D.J. stands for Jeffrey, just as it does in his father’s nickname, J.T..

The depth of the above paragraph was offered because J.T.’s backstory is being reintroduced as part of an apparently telegraphed climax. All Luckinbill fans would likely prefer that this actor remains with the cast. His departure has yet to be conclusively confirmed but seems increasingly possible based upon the rapid pace of developments in his storyline.
