The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Summer’s Back – Party’s Over

Various Genoa City residents were glad to get a break from Summer (Hunter King) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) out-foxed her via the forced Jaboat excursion. While it seems like the party’s over for King’s character, Summer remains focused on Billy (Jason Thompson).

Some had hopes that Summer set sail for an indefinite period of time, or maybe forever. But such is not the case, as GC’s lead trouble-maker returned with her me-first attitude loaded for bear.

Phyllis’ apt tag, that Summer sees herself as a Phyllis sequel, verbally defined where this relationship has arrived. Summer finally admitted to her ‘Silly’ plan at the then-three person condo before she had it out with Tognoni’s character. The face-slap followed.

Summer was subsequently sent off on a seeming three-day tour, which may have been a wink at the classic sitcom, ‘Gilligan’s Island’ three-hour tour series setup. Tenured soap fans recall Bob Denver as the goofy lead character in that nighttime comedy. Summer had her own, unwanted modern day nautical adventure that’s now over.

The lack of a smartphone and WiFi blocked all communication for Summer. Considering all that she’s done this season, okay, summer, it was humorous to think of her remanded to the sea. She’ll have plenty to say about that topic and others this coming week.

Along with Phyllis’ disciplinary measure, Billy made a wise move by packing ‘Philly’s’ stuff and moving them to the Abbott house. The interplay between Ashley (Eileen Davidson), Kyle, and the unliked head of Jabot adds to this storyline’s intrigue.

The temporary relocation should help to stifle Summer’s persistence, though the poker game Kyle (Michael Mealor) set up with Sinead (Lira Kellerman) is ominous. Y&R fans surely must sense that Billy will gamble, once again. Summer will somehow be involved and then make it look like ‘Silly’ happened unless Billy loses control and makes (another) mistake in judgment.

Yes, Summer is back. But whose party will soon end?
