Summer (Hunter King) spoke very directly to Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. ‘Phick’s’ only child rightfully felt her mother’s most recent action was linked to her own origin.
‘Philly’ and ‘Shick’ seem primed to face linked drama. Also, as a result of Summer’s pressure, Phyllis also assumed that ‘Silly’ could be her daughter’s endgame plan.
Nick (Joshua Morrow) rejected what for now is Phyllis’ theory. She asked Summer’s father if he thought Billy (Jason Thompson) had become their daughter’s romantic target. Phyllis’ perceived realization was an unintended part of Summer having confronted her mom about what just took place with her dad.
A handful of weeks ago Phyllis and Nick both believed that their existing relationships were in serious jeopardy of ending. They commiserated with each other and then jointly a ‘Phick’ reunion shouldn’t have happened.

The impulsive nature of Phyllis and Nick sharing a night of romance may have seemed a bit forced. However, tenured fans recall that Michelle Stafford’s edition of this character and Morrow’s always-version of Nick acted on impulse, many times, after Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) untimely demise.
‘Phick’s’ formation led to Summer’s birth, as she said. But King’s character believes that she has led a frazzled life because her mother has an unaddressed cheating addiction.
Summer feels that Phyllis has behaved like a hypocrite toward Billy, who recently revived his gambling habit. Seeing no difference between Billy’s mental bent and the one Phyllis has, Summer felt compelled to call her mother out.
Phyllis stated earlier this summer, when Summer first returned home, that her daughter reminded her of herself at a younger age. That humbling comparison, along with Summer’s bold address created a noticeable impact.
Y&R created a different version of Phyllis via the Tognoni recast. Phyllis, starting in 2014, was far more compassionate and has evidenced a quirky sense of humor that wasn’t seen before. Hardcore fans of this soap recognize the variances between each Phyllis, which includes the brief contribution Sandra Nelson offered in 1997 and 1998.
While Stafford’s performances received their just due as outstanding, Tognoni is playing the role she’s been given within her own era in the cast. Like Stafford, Tognoni and King have been recognized with Daytime Emmy Awards for their Y&R roles. Though subjective honors in all instances, each actor’s work is valued by those who consider themselves GC devotees.
