The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Summer Provokes Her Own Doom – Kyle Goes For It

Summer (Hunter King) brashly told Kyle (Michael Mealor) that he wasn’t as good as her on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She advised the man who used to be her boyfriend that he wasn’t willing to do what it took to succeed. Kyle then sought out Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and revealed Summer’s Philadelphia plan.

The trap was set. Summer told Phyllis that she was taking a yoga spa day in Madison, Wisconsin, which has long been known as Genoa City’s adjacent town. The truth was that a round trip ticket to Philadelphia had been purchased, with the intent of trailing Billy (Jason Thompson).

Phyllis’ eyes lit up after she learned what Summer was doing. Fallout between both ladies followed.

Kyle’s purpose in revealing the plan was two-fold. On the business side, he knows that Billy’s personal life will be tussled. That then will impact his ability to conduct business at Jabot. Personally, he has a bet with Summer that would result in them returning to couple’s status if the ‘Silly’ theory falters.

The recent sit-down Kyle had with his aunt Ashley (Eileen Davidson) further underscored an intent to attain a position of true power within the family company. Ashley rejected Kyle’s attempt to offer personal information about Billy without even hearing the details. She wants to bring Billy down through a board’s no-confidence vote, but was willing to retain Kyle’s plan as a backup.

Now, due to Kyle’s efforts, Billy may soon be without Phyllis. It remains possible that either Billy will reject Summer, or Phyllis will be able to intercede before King’s character gets her mark.

Even assuming that Summer and Billy connect, Kyle may not ask his ex-girlfriend to hold hands again.

Kyle wants power at Jabot far more than Summer. Billy will be embattled no matter what happens with, or between Summer and Phyllis. But in the meantime, Billy appears primed for ouster from his Chief Operating Officer’s chair.

Said disposal would open power to someone, blood Abbott, or not, assuming that clause is revoked as is intended. Why couldn’t that new king be Kyle, or so he thinks?
