The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Summer Lures Billy To Play Fool’s Poker

Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is a gambling addict on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While he’s been clean for a number of years, the trigger Summer (Hunter King) purposely offered has drawn him back to a dangerous vice.

Could Summer be more mischievous since returning to Genoa City? Why yes, as this summer (the just-started season) will evidence.

For whatever impulsive reason, The Young and the Restless spoilers show Summer decided that she wants to pull Billy’s chain, push his emotional buttons, or do whatever else is necessary to manipulate him.

Billy was fully content with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and remains so to this day. How long that stays true is to be determined. But it’s important to note that Phyllis isn’t clued into Summer’s plan yet. When that realization is made there’s a chance the old Phyllis comes back.

As tenured viewers recall, Billy Miller’s Daytime Emmy Award-winning edition of Billy fell off the Gambler’s anonymous wagon many times. Dramatic The Young and the Restless storylines followed that involved Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and eventually played into, along with other issues, the severing of their romantic ties.

Thompson has delivered a solid ‘Billy-boy’ since he joined the Y&R cast. His main drama involved the willing transfer of Phyllis from Jack (Peter Bergman) to himself. ‘

‘Phack’ began under Michelle Stafford, whose character never would have connected with Miller’s Billy. So, it was understandable that many viewers resisted ‘Philly’ at first. But it’s now fair to say that Tognoni and Thompson click.

Devoted The Young and the Restless fans know that Summer’s ploy is being written into the story to inflict controversy between Billy and Phyllis, while also establishing what would definitely be a highly controversial triangle.

Will Billy be able to control his impulses once he feels the lurid appeal of those rectangular cards? Summer is gambling that she push Billy off-track and then split him from Phyllis, possibly sending her back to Jack.

Of course, King’s character would probably flick Billy away if anything happened between them. Yes, ‘Silly’ doesn’t project longterm.
