The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Shick’s Revival In Trouble – Nick Has An Out

Sharon (Sharon Case) told Nick (Joshua Morrow) something meaningful on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While it wasn’t a full lie, it also wasn’t honest. The half-truth ‘Shick’s’ revival is being built on telegraphs trouble in the near future and gives Nick an out if he opts to take it.

Nick remains focused on J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) odd disappearance from Genoa City. He’s convinced that Sharon is withholding information from him about the situation, which is correct.

After attempting to counter his emotional logic, Sharon took a different tack. She told him that she wanted him, after which ‘Shick’ became romantic in a way they hadn’t done in years.

Tenured Y&R viewers recall that Sharon and Nick reconciled earlier this decade. They initially split in the mid-2000’s after Cassie (Camryn Grimes, 2018’s Outstanding Supporting Actress (as Mariah) in a Drama Series Award-Winner) tragically died. Their intended marriage in the fall of 2014 was busted by none other than Phyllis (played by the then-debuting Gina Tognoni).

Phyllis awoke from a coma, that Sharon was accidentally linked to, traveled from the southern part of the country to GC, and pushed her way into the church where ‘Shick’ stood at the altar. Phyllis exposed Sharon’s lie about Summer’s (Hunter King) paternity and that remarriage never came to be.

This time around Phyllis, along with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), has pressured Sharon to keep quiet about what really happened to J.T. Sharon resisted that pressure, but is now willingly complying with the coverup plan. Thus the half-truth was written into the script.

Y&R has seemingly established an out for Nick. He could break the apparent ‘Shick’ Part II (or would the Roman Numeral be higher than that?) by simply citing Sharon’s exaggerated claim that took place in the cottage. She used that moment to divert Nick’s gaze from J.T. to herself and it worked.

Nick wants to trust Sharon again. They have genuinely been getting closer, as he feels. But this trust-breaker now exists if Nick chooses to ditch ‘Shick’ again.
