The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Shick Wedding Drama Impacts Billy – Devastated By Phyllis’ Cheating

Sharon (Sharon Case) upends ‘Shick’s’ wedding shortly after Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) reveal on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But the ‘Phick’ dalliance Sharon exposes during the ceremony also impacts Billy (Jason Thompson).

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) hurt two people, not just Sharon, when they acted on impulse. Now everyone knows what happened, including the other half of ‘Philly’.

Seasoned soap viewers could see what was coming when Phyllis announced that Billy would be her plus-one at ‘Shick’s’ wedding. Why not just say guest, by the way? Ah, the need to create new phrases to comment on soapy things.

Regarding the, uh, what’s the right word, yes, dalliance, that Nick and Phyllis knee-jerked into, their free will choice is now set to destroy two couples. Sharon and Nick apparently aren’t going to get remarried and the proposal Billy made to Phyllis earlier on ‘Shick’s’ wedding day now seems to be just words instead of a promise that will be fulfilled.

Already dealing with being forcibly removed from his job at Jabot, Billy now has to deal with an open-face betrayal from the one woman he thought he could trust. He’d previously written off Vickie (Amelia Heinle), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), based upon the Jabot coup, and even Traci (Beth Maitland), who is sitting in the Chief Executive Officer’s chair at the company John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) founded.

However, the character Douglas played through 2015 may also soon serve as a source of shock for Billy as well. As of now an easy projection would have Billy lose his career, his latest love, and then his biological connection to John.

Jack’s (Peter Bergman) paternity quest seems prime to somehow restore this legacy character. That would reestablish the name fans want to hear, Jack Abbott.

However, in order to make that happen some explanation would have to be offered regarding the non-match that resulted when Jack compared his DNA sample to Billy’s’. As noted above, sharp daytime drama fans (again using new phrases to comment on soapy things) see that the ‘Shick’ drama that struck Billy could lead to his own Abbott bloodletting.
