Sharon (Sharon Case) fell back in love with the man she first married in the mid-1990’s on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But new Nick (Joshua Morrow) is different than that guy, which is already creating conflict for the revived version of ‘Shick’.
Nick was infinitely angered by his father’s actions. Victor (Eric Braeden) struck back after his temperamental son rejected a position with Newman Enterprises just days after accepting it. Not only had Nick surprisingly returned to the fold, he did so of his own accord.
Victor is the head of the family company that he built from the ground up. Those who’ve never done such a thing, like Nick, would fully discount the intelligence, resilience, and all-out audacity it took to create a global conglomerate. But just as there are people in Genoa City and elsewhere around the globe that label Victor, as the ‘Moustache’, or ‘Black Knight’, and consider his every action to be supposedly ruthless, so too does this man face opposition among his clan.
Nick was right to be upset that Victor wanted full custody of Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen). However, he incited his father’s reprisal. Both men are responsible for their free will actions, not just Nick’s father.
So, where does the latest rift between Nick and Victor leave Sharon? Well, her name was skipped since the intro to this feature because she isn’t Nick’s overriding concern, nor is her family.
Nick, who’s name again leads another paragraph, is morphing into whatever version of Victor he believes he doesn’t reflect. This is a reply of the Victor-Albert Miller (as played by the late, great George Kennedy) scenario. In that horrid family squabble, father and son could never make amends. Albert lashed out at Victor at the end of his life, despite Victor’s honest intent to settled their differences, meaning both men never reconciled. As tenured fans recall, Nick witnessed that event.
Nick has begun making unilateral decisions that affect many people’s lives, most especially Sharon’s. How long she puts up with new Nick is yet to be determined. But based upon past history, Sharon won’t stand for not being fully valued for long.
