The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Sharon’s Fears Justified – J.T. Issue Threatens Shick

Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) have come a long way on ‘The Young and the Restless’. ‘Shick’ is in a better position than it has been in years, including their almost-remarriage in 2014. But the potential resurrection of J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) threatens to upend all that Sharon has worked to reclaim and potentially, alienate Nick in a whole new way.

Dealing with the perceptions of bipolar disorder has proven continually challenging. There’s a stigma associated with this mental health issue.

Not only do Sharon’s family members and acquaintances treat her with kid gloves, but most recently an arbitration judge cited her condition as a leading reason why Nick wouldn’t keep Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen). Sage (Kelly Sullivan) and Adam’s (most recently played by Justin Hartley) son was then temporarily awarded to Victor (Eric Braeden).

However, Nick’s trust in Sharon could easily be shattered if he learns that she’s had knowledge of what really happened to J.T. and what Mr. Hellstrom may, incredibly, be doing now. The idea that this thought-dead character could still be alive would actually increase the reaction shot Morrow’s character will offer if (when) he learns the truth.

While still hospitalized, Victor told Nick that J.T. was his assailant. That lightning bolt reveal, made under significant physical duress, sent Nick on a mission to get Luckinbill’s character.

Nick’s recent pronouncement that he planned on making sure the man who’d attacked two of his family members (Vickie, Amelia Heinle, and Victor) was followed by a seeming video sighting of him. But all in the know wondered just how that could be?

Sharon has never once told Nick that his ongoing pursuit of J.T. is in vain because Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) conked that seemingly deranged man on his head. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) then brazenly led an accidental death coverup that became a crime. Sharon, Nikki, and Vickie were coerced to go along with those plans so they wouldn’t be put in jail.

Despite all the efforts she’s made, Sharon once again finds herself withholding crucial information from Nick. While it’s possible the inclusion of his mother, sister, and alternative ex-wife Phyllis’ involvement in whatever the J.T. issue turns out to be will impact Nick’s outlook, that’s not likely to be the initial case. Yes, ‘Shick’s’ future is threatened just as this reconciled couple has finally gotten back together again.
