The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Sharon Stands By Nick – Phyllis Wrongfully Questions Shick

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) is and will remain in no position to question Sharon’s (Sharon Case) loyalty to Nick (Joshua Morrow) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. As this intriguing battle between both ex-wives emerges, Y&R fans have noticed that the possibility of ‘Shick’ has progressed and that Tognoni’s version of Phyllis might also be moving back to Michelle Stafford’s interpretation of this classic character.

Sharon felt fully compelled to tell Nick that Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) wasn’t his biological son. Phyllis relayed that reveal to Sharon and asked for her assistance in confirming it, which she got. Then, after both ladies knew the truth, Phyllis decided that it was best for Nick to remain in the dark because he’d just lost Chelsea and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois).

So, Sharon told Nick. He rushed to the hospital, paid for and received one of the quickest DNA test results in Genoa City history. This one also appears conclusive, as Victor (Eric Braeden) wasn’t aware of the request and therefore didn’t have a chance to manipulate the outcome. Not that he did so in this instance in the past, but the point was still worth noting.

Phyllis remains mad at Sharon for telling Nick the truth, which doesn’t make sense if only the current storyline context. However, when one considers the history between these ladies then the soapy picture becomes vivid.

Sharon and Nick have become closer in recent months. They resolved their Sully (also played by the McGuigen’s) problem long ago, which enabled Nick to tell Sharon about Scott’s (Daniel Hall) duplicity with Abby (Melissa Ordway).

Nick isn’t mad at Phyllis, as he knows her intentions were to protect his feelings. At the same time, he’s grateful to Sharon for having been honest with him about something so vital.

Stafford’s edition of Phyllis split Sharon and Nick up after Cassie (Camryn Grimes) tragically died. Tognoni’s recast version stopped ‘Shick’s’ wedding during the ceremony at the church in 2014. As of 2018, Phyllis’ fear is that Sharon and Nick will get back together. Whether this long-awaited reunion happens is why daytime devotees will keep watching.
