The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Sharon Teams Up With Former Rival Phyllis – Dynamic Duo Versus Chelsea

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ weren’t thrilled with the drawn out nature of the original Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) reveal. The second storyline shoe drop has also taken a long time to play out, but will pay off in Sharon (Sharon Case) redeeming herself by pairing with, of all people, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni).

Devoted viewers recall that a complex tale was told across an extended period of time that involved Sharon knowing Christian hadn’t died. She came to raise Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) son as her own, using the name Sully. Dylan (Steve Burton), Sharon’s husband at the time, believed the baby was Shylan’s, but he wasn’t.

That first reveal factored into Dylan’s eventual choice to leave Genoa City. He then morphed into a man known as Patient Six, who was actually Jason Morgan. Readers can ask Port Charles fans for further details about that ABC arc if they aren’t aware of those soapy proceedings. A wink is now offered regarding this entire paragraph.

Getting back to fictional realities in Wisconsin, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) just told Phyllis that Adam (Justin Hartley) is Christian’s biological son. Tognoni’s character was floored by that news, which was only offered because of Phyllis’ threat to expose Chelsea’s money lies to Nick.

Phyllis asked J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) to trace some of the money that Lauren was given by Victor. Mr. Hellstrom determined that the serial numbers matched bank records for the laundered loot. Phyllis subsequently confronted Chelsea at the Top of the Tower and gained an implied admission, followed by the Christian news.

Knowing that Sharon cares about Nick, but also played a key role in Christian’s early life, Phyllis then made sure to tell her former nemesis what she’d learned. Sharon, like everyone who will come to learn this truth, was flabbergasted.

Ironically, Nick’s first two loves are now willingly on the same team. They don’t want Nick to marry Chelsea because of what they’ve learned, knowing that any Chick nuptials will be steeped in a lie and thus destined to disintegrate at some future point.

Egan’s announced departure from the show has been followed by rumors that Chelsea’s final scenes are expected to be projected in early March. That gives Adam’s widow a few weeks to hold off an increasing amount of opposing forces as she attempts to hold onto her life and son, Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois).

Surely, Chelsea won’t be able to withstand applied pressure. Possibly that’s why she’s the one who hits Sharon over the head at Crimson Lights?

Phyllis, Sharon and Victor are now all working against Chelsea’s interests. As soon as Nick joins that fray, Egan’s character will leave, or somehow be forced out of town. Whether Connor goes with her, Adam somehow returns, or any one of a number of other scenarios also unfolds is why Y&R fans and supporters of all good soaps will watch.
