The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Sharon Leaves Nick – Shick Reunion Already Over

Sharon (Sharon Case) is leaving Nick (Joshua Morrow) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But it’s not because the just reformed ‘Shick’ is splitting. Instead, Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) biological truth is once again the cause of coming drama.

Oh, that Victor (Eric Braeden). He’s at it again. Within days, yes, days of making peace with Nick, the ‘Moustache’ began fighting with his prodigal son again.

The latest bitter fight between two guys, who are more alike then they would acknowledge, began with an accepted job offer from Newman Enterprises. Nick decided that he was ready to return to the fold and wanted to become an executive at the family’s global conglomerate.

Nick has reimagined himself as a philanthropist, whereas Victor is the one-dimensional, evil corporate raider. Y&R’s savvy fans see through the implied message to the personal points within each character. This father and son share traits including: stubbornness, a hot-tempered nature, and blasphemous use of language against perceived opponents.

Victor wasn’t actually trying to impinge Nick’s dignity when he offered him the Chief Operating Officer’s position at Newman. He simply assessed that Vickie’s (Amelia Heinle) betrayal of trust, relating to the Ashley (Eileen Davidson) issue, disqualified her to head the company, at least right now.

Abby (Melissa Ordway) hasn’t been considered for the COO slot because Victor undervalues his younger daughter’s worth. He hasn’t actually given her a chance to prove she could handle a top executive spot.

So, Nick let his dad have it after he learned that the COO job was being offered. Morrow’s character saw that as an attempt to pit him against his older sister. That led to another verbal battle with Victor and the ‘Black Knight’s’ use of the Christian paternity weapon. Now, back to Sharon.

Victor plans to use the fact that Sharon withheld information about Christian’s maternity, meaning Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) blood tie, in the recent past. Nick’s judgment in choosing to reconstitute ‘Shick’ and therefore his fitness to care for his nephew, will be presented to the legal system as a negative, or knock-out mark.

Sharon will feel compelled to leave Nick so that her presence won’t negatively impact chances that Christian remains with his current legal father. Sharon’s act will represent a further affirmation of love, as Nick will surely know and deeply value. ‘Shick’ will strengthen as a result.
