The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Sharon Faces Another Crisis – Chelsea and Kathy Suspected of Assault

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) tagged Sharon (Sharon Case) as the ‘Crisis Queen’ on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Of course, the original Phyllis (as played by Michelle Stafford) was quite the drama maven herself. But Tognoni’s edition hit the nail on the head with her prediction as Y&R viewers know.

Sharon’s knockout by an unknown assailant establishes a new mystery in Genoa City. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is the obvious suspect in this physical crime, but she may not be the villainess.

Viewers recall the shady side character who Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) saw at Christmas. Kathy (Jenica Bergere) and her children were believed to be homeless. Their apparent needs were met, which also spurned Nikki and Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) sudden interest in subsidized housing. Could this one- or two-off character, originally thought to be an incarnation of Katherine (Jeanne Cooper), be guilty of assaulting Sharon?

Stepping back to Chelsea, she would appear to be motivated to stop Sharon using any needed method. As Y&R viewers know, Phyllis and Sharon have conclusive evidence that Adam (Justin Hartley) is Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) biological father. Chelsea wasn’t aware that Nick’s ex-wives obtained said evidence. But she knew that both ladies were focused on her.

Egan previously announced her departure from the cast. Chelsea’s final scenes will be shown within weeks. So that means the building climax will lead to Chelsea’s write-out in the imminent future.

As Phyllis predicted, Sharon is in the soup again. It makes soapy sense that Case’s character would play prominently into Chelsea’s endgame, if that’s what’s happening.

The loss of any solid actor always affects an ensemble production. Egan has proven to be a consistently engaging member of Y&R’s cast since she debuted in 2011.

This veteran soap star will be missed by her fans and all soap supporters. Egan advised that she doesn’t expect Chelsea to be gone forever, but just for awhile. So whatever cliffhanger may be presented will likely be revisited in the future. In the meantime, she’s wished well in her life and career.
