Fans of ‘Shick’ appear to have had their hopes bolstered on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) admitted that there is still something between them. That alone should mean that the awaited revival of this one-time super couple is happening.
Seasoned soap fans know that nothing is certain and anything can change. But this particular pair of characters is much farther along then they’ve been since Case and Morrow stood at the altar in 2014. That storyline appeared to be ‘Shick’s’ reunification arc, but proved not to be. The rightly-casted Gina Tognoni assumed the Phyllis’ role and put a stop to that seeming revival plan.

This time around Sharon didn’t keep a paternity secret from Nick, as the recast Phyllis exposed in that past instance. Instead, Sharon suffered a blow to the head while trying to tell Nick that Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) was Adam’s (Justin Hartley) son, not his own.
After recovering, Sharon overcame Phyllis’ insistence that Christian’s information be withheld. For that courage and persistence, Sharon regained Nick’s full trust.

As an aside, that part of this arc felt pushed. Phyllis had no motivating reason to withhold that fact from Nick, especially considering what Sharon had done with Summer’s (Hunter King) genetic information in the past.
Now, let’s review our digital library of Y&R’s episodes to further strengthen the argument that ‘Shick’ is really happening in the spring of 2018. Going back a few years, Nick was married to Sage (Kelly Sullivan) and Sharon was moving toward marrying Dylan (Steve Burton). At least three road blocks stood in the way of Sharon and Nick getting back together, then.
But Sage died and Dylan went into witness protection. (Apparently he’s going by the name of Jason and is living in Port Charles.) Finally, Nick came to trust Sharon again.
Obviously, Nick’s choice to move into the cottage was a watershed moment. His kiss with Sharon, a break though. What happens next? Well, viewers will keep watching (and reading) about Y&R because they (we) are soap fans.
