The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Scott and Abby Ponder A Future Together

‘The Young and the Restless’ nicely crafted sets of dueling scenes that showed Scott (Daniel Hall) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) talking with their mothers. The tennis like dialogue lobs were nicely hit back and forth throughout the match that ended in a tie. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) were equally thrown by this unexpected couple’s take on what seems to be love.

What’s clear is that this couple is gushing over each other. They can’t get what happened during, or since, the storage unit incident out of their minds. Natural attractive proved too intense, which is why ‘Shott’ came to a sudden end this month.

Savvy Y&R fans know that Ordway is being seen in her final scenes, as she delivered a healthy daughter in early December and is out on maternity leave. That means Abby is about to be written out of the story, since daytime dramas record episodes approximately six weeks in advance.

Newman Enterprises needed a top executive to handle issues in Paris and Abby jumped at the chance. That was a believable way to have Ordway’s character leave Genoa City for an indefinite period.

As a result of Abby’s business trip, ‘Scabby’ will be on hold. Scott will therefore find himself alone during this Wisconsin winter. Sharon (Sharon Case) first gave him the cold shoulder.

Mr. Grainger’s ideas about telecommuting won’t prove necessary and weren’t going to be approved by Vickie (Amelia Heinle) anyway. He won’t have to worry about running into Abby because she’ll soon be across the pond in France.

Executive producer and head writer Mal Young has therefore established a number of plot options. While it doesn’t seem likely, Sharon and Scott could slowly repair their relationship as the months pass. If ‘Shott’ doesn’t reform, Scott could happen upon another lady and begin dating her. Then again, maybe Hall’s character will focus on his career and avoid any new relationship.

Abby may, or may not be shown from Paris during her period of absence. It’s possible that Ordway has filmed scenes in advance.

With whatever her character decides, Y&R won’t be able to revive, or resolve ‘Scabby’ until Abby returns to town. Although Scott might follow her to France, eventually.
