Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) got Paul’s (Doug Davidson) approval and offered Sharon (Sharon Case) a job on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Well, she accepted. But Sharon’s the one who’s setting a trap.
Detective Rosales believes that Sharon is the weakest link among a group of five ladies. Rey doesn’t know that Mariah (Camryn Grimes) passed out on the infamous night in question. He believes that Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Vickie (Amelia Heinle), and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) are strong-willed. Sharon is seen as the one who, based on proximity, will provide information about the mysterious disappearance of J.T. (Thad Luckinbill).
Something interesting happened after Sharon told Rey that she needed time to think about his offer. Genoa City’s second-newest character (as Rey’s sister, Lola (Sasha Calle), has become the freshest face) doesn’t know that today’s Sharon is vastly different than the version of Case’s character who cycled from the mid-2000’s through the point where Dylan (Steve Burton) left.

Sharon’s meeting with Vickie at Crimson Lights followed Rey’s cat and mouse game. He’s still playing Sharon, but she knows that.
In a bit of soapy magic, Sharon earned an apparent advanced degree in rapid fashion (she studied for about a year, right?) and was offered a professional position utilizing her exact skills just days later. Countless Y&R fans who are also college graduates raised their eyebrows at that development which was created to further the J.T. Is Actually Dead storyline.
Based on Vickie’s suggestion, Sharon opted to become the GC Police Department’s victim liaison, or whatever title Rey and Paul invented. This isn’t a totally far-fetched scenario, as Rey knew that Sharon has significant experience at the crisis hotline center. But he doesn’t know that she plans to fish around for whatever information she can glean from the GCPD files and pass it along to the coverup crew.

Surely there will be various close calls, where Sharon nearly gets caught, or has to explain whatever she’s doing to her supervisor. However, in order to further the next chapter in this extending arc, Y&R will need to evenly distribute whatever clues Rey learns and tidbits Sharon collects until a fitting climax happens, likely during fall.
As always, more detailed spoilers and a full collection of pictures for the week in question will appear here on Soap Opera Spy, where there will be more clues and hints over exactly what’s going on.
