The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Rey And Sharon’s Link Forming – Shick’s Future Questioned

Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) is the newest guy in town on ‘The Young and the Restless’. His entrance into Sharon’s (Sharon Case) cottage raises questions about ‘Shick’s’ future because of that fabled couple’s past and present circumstances.

Tenured Y&R fans recall ‘Shick’s’ glory days that began in the mid-1990’s, when the former child Nick was SORAS’d into Joshua Morrow. Case joined the cast in 1994 as well. Together this acting duo created one of, if not the most beloved and eventually, controversial couples ever.

Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) death, due to injuries suffered in a car accident, served to create ‘Shick’s’ split circa 2005. Nick was paired with Phyllis (as then played by Michelle Stafford and now played by Gina Tognoni), who he recently spent some unexpected time with.

Sharon suffered greatly after being abandoned all those years ago. She became involved with other people, pursued various adventures, and, most importantly, has been strong within the last year. Her relatively recent repairing with Nick was somewhat surprising, but also had been long-hoped for among ‘Shick’ fans.

Enter Rey. An equally important point, along with his connection to the ‘Shick’ storyline, is that this character represents an expansion of the Rosales family. Arturo (Jason Canela) debuted earlier this year. Now, Rey. Next will be their younger sister, Lola (Sasha Calle).

Sharon, along with the rest of Genoa City, doesn’t know what Rey is actually doing. He recently mentioned that he works in financial services, which seemed to be a cover term for whatever his true profession is.

Rey will acknowledge his interest in J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) disappearance. That specific storyline link will continue to place him in Case’s character’s path as Rey’s back story is revealed.

Nick morphed into J.T. in order to gaslight Victor (Eric Braeden). The unlawful acts Rey seems sure to uncover will then put him at odds with Sharon’s all-time love, one-time husband, father of two of her children, and current fiance. Thus the triangular conflict between these characters will be drawn.
