Perceived change has come to Genoa City on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The old guard, meaning the way things supposedly always were, appears to be down. But, as is true elsewhere in soapy life, many characters are not out. This is what makes for solid November Sweeps viewing.
Y&R centered upon the battle between Jack (Peter Bergman) and Victor (Eric Braeden) for many years. Mr. Abbott ran Jabot Cosmetics, while his nemesis, a man he dubbed the ‘Moustache’, ruled the global conglomerate Newman Enterprises.
Now, as 2018 gets set to yawn, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) has been elected Chief Executive Officer at Jabot and Nick (Joshua Morrow) is running a company, Dark Horse, he founded that intends to sink Newman. Seasoned daytime fans know that all is not lost, but that the future won’t resemble the past either.

Jack intends to regain power at his family company. Having Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Billy (Jason Thompson) embedded near Phyllis will serve to supply ongoing, needed information. Regardless of their differences among each other, these three blood Abbott’s want to retake control of their legacy.
Yes, Phyllis needs to watch her back. That’s why the choice of Lauren (Tracey Bregman) as Chief Operating Officer was super smart.
Victor has been away on a business trip for a number of weeks. In reality, Braeden took personal time off in September. The iconic Y&R actor’s return is imminent, as teased by his social media remarks, which noted that Victor’s return storyline will be very compelling.

The daily daytime grind requires writing staffs to consider twists on existing plots and always to remain open to shifting the existences of entrenched characters. By taking power from Jack and challenging Victor’s reign in fresh ways, Y&R is offering viewers new views of familiar faces.
There is no certain outcome, where Jack is restored as CEO, or Victor takes Dark Horse down. Instead, both lead male characters should continue to face intriguing drama within their well-worn plot places.
