The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Phyllis and Billy Join Forces Against Summer – Philly Threat Blocked

Billy (Jason Thompson) has been dealing with Summer (Hunter King) for awhile on ‘The Young and the Restless’. In recent weeks, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) recognized the threat to ‘Philly’ as well. But both halves of this power couple have seemingly blocked King’s character.

Jaboat is a cheeky, but cool nickname that Billy applied to the Jabot yacht. He was forced to relinquish her due to poker game debts he’d impulsively incurred. Summer pushed Billy’s free will buttons, which allowed him to join a series of games that led to his nautical loss. So, it’s not fair, or honest to blame Y&R’s returned and revved up character for Billy’s problems. She was simply the provocateur.

However, there is no question that Summer has been pursuing Billy for months. Initially, she was just playing her own game. Behaving like a high-schooler who was attempting to split the quarterback from his cheerleader girlfriend, she continued to increased various overtures as Billy fully resisted her pranks.

Summer employed a tactical shift by purposely leading Billy back to gambling. She knew that was an addiction he’d controlled and gambled that he’d go off-track if pressure was applied. It was and Billy crashed, but at least was able to win back enough money to reclaim Jaboat.

Kyle (Michael Mealor) recently learned Billy’s company-linked gambling details through Summer’s unprovoked reveal, which improves odds that Thompson’s character will be pushed out of Jabot. Kyle has also been urging Summer to stop what she’s been doing. He finally had enough and rightly opted to inform Phyllis about the Philadelphia setup plan. Phyllis’ savvy actions misdirected Summer to Jaboat, where Billy wasn’t waiting as expected.

How long King will be seen as her alter ego in Genoa City isn’t exactly known, as she’s also part of the Life In Pieces cast, which is in its fourth season and will debut later in the nighttime television year.

Billy later returned from the trade show where his current love’s actions prevented him from being targeted and then celebrated with his still-significant other. ‘Philly’ was preserved, for now.
