Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) made an instinctive decision on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That remains honorable. But her second choice, to follow Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) lead, was reckless and now leads to frightful consequences.
The coming attack on Nikki will be the latest in a series of outcomes that likely never needed to happen. But whoever has been provoked is retaliating.
Scenes that show Scott’s character in the hospital result after she’s attacked by an unknown assailant. This person appears to be directly connected to the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) storyline that erupted in mid-April and still exits here in December.
Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) self-reveal as the blackmailer was telegraphed for the past handful of months. But Miss Porter claimed, when confronted by Vickie (Amelia Heinle), that she didn’t know where J.T.’s body had been moved to. Tessa’s kidnapping, which suspiciously dovetails with Nikki’s assault, revives thoughts in viewer’s minds as to whether Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) strong doubts about this individual will be furthered.
How could someone use coyotes to smuggle Crystal (Morgan Obenreder) across the border into Canada last summer and then not pay them off in full? Human smugglers wouldn’t seem primed to offer deferred payment plans.

What is the likelihood that Tessa hasn’t been acting alone, but instead is working with whatever person, or group that is targeting the coverup crew and possibly, Victor (Eric Braeden), who is currently missing?
If Nikki had only trusted Paul (Doug Davidson) last spring, but she didn’t. Instead, Vickie’s defender was swayed by Phyllis’ misguided plan to not report what happened to J.T. and then to bury his body in Chancellor Park.

Y&R fans have always known that consequences would eventually result. If they were being totally honest, so too have all members of the coverup crew. That time appears to have arrived and whoever is the true villain (or villains) will soon be exposed. But that result may also be tied to Nikki, Vickie, Phyllis, and Sharon (Sharon Case) having to face justice for the crimes they committed.
As always, more detailed spoilers and a full collection of pictures for the week in question will appear here on Soap Opera Spy, where there will be more clues and hints over exactly what’s going on.
