Why didn’t Vickie (Amelia Heinle) run downstairs when she saw J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) on ‘The Young and the Restless’? She could have screamed to the ladies downstairs, which included Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) as well. However, second-guessing someone who has been in Vickie’s position is part of what a victim deals with.
Y&R has paralleled its incredible Alzheimer’s storyline with a riveting tale of abuse. The work Heinle and Luckinbill collaboratively produced is Emmy Award-winning worthy. Hopefully, that happens at next year’s ceremonies, which is when current efforts would be rewarded.
So Nikki, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), an unlikely trio of colleagues if there ever was one, were downstairs in Victoria’s house. They just were witnesses to a very sad reveal where Vickie acknowledged what ‘JTV’ actually was under the surface.
Vickie was upstairs washing her face when J.T.’s mug shockingly appeared in the mirror in front of her. The one-time good guy was peering from behind after having just climbed into the house via the garage roof.
J.T. was told to leave but didn’t. His persistence was unwittingly encouraged by Cane (Daniel Goddard) earlier in the episode.

A long shot showed Vickie walking from the bathroom to her bedroom. J.T. followed. Surely some wondered why she didn’t scream for help at that point, or run down the stairs to safety.
The final moments of ‘J.T.V.’ played out, which included a regrettable and detestable slap across Vickie’s face by the person who claimed to love her. J.T. had just admitted that he needed help, but had all of his revivals hopes dashed and thus transformed into his alternate persona. That person, however and wherever he came from just admitted to having been Victor’s (Eric Braeden) initial attacker and the person who pulled his plug (flipped the switch, actually) at the hospital. Vickie tried to call the police, but J.T. stopped her.
Vickie’s resultant loud words stirred Nikki, Sharon, and Phyllis to run up the stairs. They entered. Nikki picked up a fireplace poker and hit J.T. across the head as he was standing within inches of her daughter.
Luckinbill fell to the ground. An overhead shot showed the other four characters surrounding the man who was either knocked out or dead.
Ladies and gentlemen that was a great soap.
