The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nick Focused On Business – Sharon Slighted, Like Nikki

Nick (Joshua Morrow) is all about Dark Horse right now on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s relentlessly pursuing his vision to start a so-called family business. As a result, Sharon (Sharon Case) has begun to be slighted. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) can surely relate.

The many ‘Niktor’ marriages were often filled with Newman Enterprises conflicts. Yes, there were unrelated personal dalliances. But, for the most part, Victor (Eric Braeden) was married to his company. It was paramount, while his young wife and young children came a combined second in the pecking order.

Sharon and Nick are middle-aged. They do have a young daughter, Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lynd) and are raising Nick’s nephew Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen). However, they are not equally comparable to the 1980’s and early 1990’s editions of Nikki and Victor.

Nick’s willing transformation into a darker character has made him far more like Victor than he ever was before. That factor chills whatever ‘Shick’s’ future will become.

As Y&R fans know, along with the coverup crew, Sharon is part of a major soapy secret. She, Nikki, Vickie (Amelia Heinle), and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) were forced into a life-ending conflict. The person whose life ended, albeit accidentally, was J.T. (Thad Luckinbill).

Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) entered the Genoa City frame within the last few weeks. He’s onto the coverup crew due to his undefined interest in Mr. Hellstrom’s absence. His proximity to Sharon and her reaction to him also indicates that he could develop into a romantic interest.

Viewers know that ‘Phick’ recently reconnected, which Sharon doesn’t know about. That withheld bit of information will surely be revealed at some point, after which Sharon could take comfort in Rey’s arms. Of course that assumes she and her contingent aren’t behind bars.

Assuming Sharon doesn’t don a jumpsuit, as she has in the past, she’ll remain in the cottage. Whether the planned ‘Shick’ wedding in October happens is another issue that will likely be affected by Nick’s business-first focus and Sharon’s hope for a stand-up guy, whoever that may prove to be.
