The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nick Appreciates Sharon’s Honesty – Christian Paternity Storyline Finally Over

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nick Appreciates Sharon's Honesty – Christian Paternity Storyline Finally OverIt finally happened on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The extended reveal played out. Nick (Joshua Morrow) was told that Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) is not his child, but instead is Adam’s (Justin Hartley) son. Sharon (Sharon Case) improbably became the person to tell him that.

Awhile back, when Steve Burton (Dylan) was still part of the cast, Sharon didn’t know that the boy she was raising as Sully (also the McGuigen twins) was actually Adam’s offspring. At the time she was knowingly raising Christian as her own child and had told her husband, Dylan, that he was his son.

Without delving into the details of how that arc developed, it should be written that many people stood between Sharon knowing the truth, let alone Nick. As devoted Y&R fans recall, Sage (Kelly Sullivan) claimed that she knew Adam was her son’s child in a letter that was read by Adam and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) after her (Sage’s) death. Chelsea spoke with Victor (Eric Braeden) at later points, discovering that he too believed Adam was Christian’s father.

Let’s subtract. Sage died, then Adam died and now Chelsea is in the process of fleeing Genoa City. But Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) search for dirt on Chelsea recently forced a pressured admission. Egan’s departing character told Phyllis that Adam was Christian’s son. Phyllis then told Sharon, which is how she learned.

Considering that she’d withheld the boy she believed was his son from him in the recent past, Sharon decided to tell Nick the truth. Modest delays, meaning weeks, instead of months, or years ensued. Those reveal blocks included Chelsea assaulting Sharon, which resulted in her hospitalization.

But as soon as Sharon recovered, she told Nick the truth. Based on all that’s happened and what she went through, Morrow’s character deeply appreciated it.

All of the above may, or may not, serve to reestablish ‘Shick’. Sharon and Nick’s romantic reprisal would be a bonus for their fans and could be part of their battle against Victor, assuming they both learn that he knew about Christian’s paternity as well. Yet, even if that doesn’t happen at least, at long last, Nick learned what so many others had.
