The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: New Nick’s Next Chapter Begins, Without Sharon

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: New Nick's Next Chapter Begins, Without SharonNick (Joshua Morrow) thought he could keep his secret on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But falling into the pattern that he and his original and revived true love often have, dishonesty proved to upend life in Genoa City.

The end of ‘Shick’. How often has that outcome later led to revived hopes for reunion? Too many false hope storylines preceded Y&R’s developing arc that just may keep Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick apart forever.

‘New Nick’ is the moniker that’s been seen within this digital space before. It represents an apt nickname for the character Morrow agreed to play devolved in order to create fresh pursuits. That was the direction this 24-year soap star wanted to go in order to explore a vastly different side of the alter ego he’s embodied for a generation.

Life post-Sharon was already telegraphed through Dark Horse. That rival to Newman Enterprises will comprise a part of Nick’s new life, as will the alternative home he wanted ‘Shick’ to live in. Now, that audacious abode will be where Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) spends alternate weekends and Nick likely lives with his next wife.

So, who will become the next Sharon rebound? Yes, that is, arguably, who everyone, be it Grace (Jennifer Gareis), Phyllis (Michelle Stafford and now, Gina Tognoni), the departed Sage (Kelly Sullivan), and others have been.

Oh, plenty of passioned dialogue with Summer (Hunter King) will be seen. Nick’s daughter recklessly spoke about ‘Phick’ in public, which led to Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) understandable need to clue-in Sharon.

Noah (Robert Adamson) will be around from time to time to help his dad. And Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) will continue to be raised by his uncle until Adam (last played by Justin Hartley) hopefully returns.

But the next chapter in Nick’s life ominously feels like Victor’s, circa the 1980’s, when Newman began its global rise. Throwing oneself into work in order to counter unrealized personal peace has long been part of this family’s daytime lore.
