The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Mariah Solo Host of GC Buzz – Camryn Grimes Shines Brightly

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Mariah Solo Host of GC Buzz – Camryn Grimes Shines BrightlyIt’s hard to say whether Mariah (Camryn Grimes) will continue to host GC Buzz after Hilary (Mishael Morgan) dies on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Grimes’ superb work was spotlighted through her character’s solo hosting duties this week.

The major climax linked to Morgan’s voluntary cast departure will soon have an impact on various fictional points. One area to be considered is how Hilary’s exit will affect Mariah.

The eponymous ‘Hilary Hour’ showcases the talents of the named star, fulfilling Devon’s (Bryton James) hopes. He purchased GC Buzz with the intent of creating a vehicle for Hilary to apply her energy. Mariah was added as a sidekick, playing Ed McMahon to Hilary’s Johnny Carson.

The idea of continuing the GC Buzz format, which is a show within a show, is intriguing. Grimes clearly has the chops to pull that off. As viewers have noticed, Grimes is versatile and has a true comedic flair.

Fans of this actor know that she became, arguably (if not hands down) the greatest child actor in Y&R’s history. She also surely ranks with the best child actors in daytime history. Yes, she was that great as Cassie.

Grimes 2014 return allowed a beloved actor to initially portray her former alter ego, via another of Victor’s (Eric Braeden) identity crimes. But she was actually embodying Mariah, who was Cassie’s unknown twin.

Mariah will need a sidekick if she is to take over GC Buzz. Tessa (played by the wonderful Cait Fairbanks) appears primed to fill that role if Y&R opts to further the digital TV show.

Beyond having naturally advanced in real time age, Grimes truly projects a different persona as Mariah. As with all outstanding thespians, Grimes has allowed the audience to embrace a complete different character than the original person she played.

Y&R’s thoughtful touch, in allowing Mariah to be Cassie’s sister, enabled tenured fans to revisit and possibly help to heal the wounds suffered when Grimes’ first alter ego was shockingly killed off in May 2005. That creative decision ranks with the show’s most controversial choices. However, Grimes full-time return to the cast allowed her great work to be seen again.

Fans know that Grimes will exceed whatever she’s asked to do next. That’s what multiple (2000, 2018) Daytime Emmy Award-winners do.
