The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Smart to Have Children Working With Her – HWG Is a Family Business

Considering all that happened in the Ashby family within the last year-plus, Lily (Christel Khalil) made a wise decision on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Encouraging Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) to work at the Hamilton Winters Group allows Lily to keep her children close.

‘Lane’ nearly didn’t make it. But thankfully they did due to Lily’s self-deprecating stance, considered compassion and Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) determined persistence. This endearing and enduring husband and wife team fixed their relationship for the good of their entire family.

Having Sam move in was a dramatic, permanent altering of reality. But Lily made a choice in Paris when agreeing to continue her marriage. However, viewers have seen that she hasn’t been able to fully bond with Cane’s son at this point.

Human feeling isn’t fully measurable or instantly adjustable. That fact is seen in as Lily feels Juliet’s (Laur Allen) presence through Sam, which is understandable considering the circumstances.

Lily has been open about her feelings, which is healthy. Within that context she opted to avoid work conflict by leaving Newman Enterprises shortly after Brash and Sassy was absorbed back into its original corporate home. After having just resolved a major personal crisis there was no reason to be part of a battle between Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson).

Choosing to work at HWG isn’t a fully smooth proposition, as Hilary (Mishael Morgan) works there. But it’s Devon (Bryton James) and Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) company, which should tip the scales in the Hamilton and Winters’ family’s favor.

Lily’s choice to start her own fashion division was bold (and beautiful, smile). Incorporating the twins allows a deepening connection at a point in her life where existing family ties are treasured.

In time Lily will likely think of Sam as her own child. But for now, she’s opted to work for her brother and father. Having her biological children close by at work serves Mrs. Ashby’s ongoing healing process.
