The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Sees Juliet in Sam – Lane’s Complete Revival Will Take Time

Lily (Christel Khalil) does want her husband back on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But along with that decision comes Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) son Sam. Whenever Mrs. Ashby looks at that newborn baby she naturally sees Juliet’s (Laur Allen) face.

Hopefully Y&R doesn’t channel the ghost of Juliet to haunt Lily. Instead, a realistic storyline that involves Lily’s efforts to emotionally digest all that’s happened within the last year seems more likely. What has been a compelling storyline can now go deeper.

A seeming bulk of ‘Lane’ fans remained rightfully concerned in 2017. A sizable contingent, that supports one of Genoa City’s most pleasant couples, wasn’t sure if Lily and Cane were being written apart. Even the write-out of Allen’s character didn’t ensure a revival.

Lily’s trip to Paris was coupled with Melissa Ordway’s (Abby) temporary write-out. She’s taken maternity leave and won’t be back to work for awhile. The need to send Abby away was nicely paired with Lily’s needed presence at a fashion shoot that was linked to Brash and Sassy’s European expansion.

The beautiful backdrop of France’s famous city served as a proper setting for ‘Lane’s’ recoupling decision. A series of flashbacks fully detailed many significant moments in Lily and Cane’s relationship.

The most worrisome fans of this duo are wondering if those visual memories actually represent a send-off for one actor who could be leaving the show. It can be argued that planned retrospective is establishing the coming, heretofore unknown exit, of either Khalil, or Goddard.

Hopefully, the fears of some aren’t proven valid and both fine actors remain with the cast indefinitely. Assuming that’s true, it is fair to propose that ‘Lane’s’ path to revival won’t go smoothly. Why else would Khalil be shown offering various demurred reaction shots when Sam is around?

Cane does understand and is grateful that the woman he’s never stopped loving is willing to adjust to an unexpectedly expanded Ashby family. His second son also likely holds the key to Lily’s heart, as he was brought into this world through no fault of his own. Being a good person, wife and mother, Lily’s kindness will likely sway her feelings, eventually.
