The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Needs To Keep Cane Grounded – Dangerous Escape Plan Unfolds

Cane (Daniel Goddard) isn’t thinking straight on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He, Lily (Christel Khalil) and the kids likely would be stopped at the airport, or extradited from Australia if the dangerous escape plan Mr. Ashby’s suggested works.

Lily didn’t realize that she’d driven through a red light. Shauna’s (Camryn Hamm) emotional rant at Hilary’s post-funeral get-together revealed that terrible fact.

Devon’s (Bryton James) sibling connection fully changed the moment he learned that Lily, in his opinion, killed his unborn child and wife, in that order. The long-standing, fluid rift between this adoptive brother and sister, steeped in Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) presence, infinitely elevated.

Lily reeled, as anyone would. And there stood Shauna, sloughing off her hypocrisy, having been the cause of the chase Lily, Hilary and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) took through the streets of Genoa City.

If Hamm’s well-played character hadn’t lured Charlie to ‘Hevon’s’ place while Hilary was away. If Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) had gone with her mom after rightfully responding with the truth about ‘Sharlie’s’ whereabouts. If Lily wouldn’t have allowed Hilary into her car and on and on and on.

But all of the above happened, which reveals Shauna’s funeral day proclamation as a directional shift. Blame Lily for what happened, right Shauna?’

Lily felt compelled to admit what happened to Paul (Doug Davidson). While he was angered, Michael (Christian LeBlanc), is preparing a rational defense. Lily wasn’t texting while driving, or under the influence. She was distracted by a conversation with Hilary and thus the accident, yes, accident, happened.

Hopefully Cane’s family defense mechanism is countered by his wife, or by Mattie, who stands as the voice of reason within the Ashby family as of the moment. There’s no need to try and escape to Cane’s birthplace because Lily’s defense is solid. Yes she might spend time working through the legal system and could face serious consequences. But either is a better option for the Ashby family than being on the lam for the rest of their lives.
