The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Isn’t Safe At Walworth – Ashby’s Can’t Help

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Isn't Safe At Walworth – Ashby's Can't HelpLily (Christel Khalil) is facing her first crisis on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Fellow inmates are harassing her and the only potential protection the heart of the Ashby family has are prison guards. This is the first stark reality Lily confronts as she begins life behind bars.

Y&R fans likely wondered how a prisoner was allowed to have photos of her family. Lily was shown holding the old school rectangular images while she sat on her thin, state issued mattress. Peeled paint was seen on the walls behind Lily for added effect. Tears then naturally flowed on both sides of the screen.

Lily’s unwanted neighbors applied pressure the next day, which appeared to telegraph coming trouble for this poor soul who was ripped from her family. Cane (Daniel Goddard), Mattie (Lexie Stevenson), Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry), and Sam have been forcibly swapped for a group of locked up ladies who are tagged by a number on the front of their fashion-backward jumpsuits.

Anyone would be devastated to have life go sideways in this manner. How would one cope, other than relying on survival instincts? So, while Khalil has dropped to recurring status and will be seen less often, occasional mini-arcs involving Lily’s prison plight are sure to play out between now and at least next September.

As Shauna (Camryn Hamm) eye-witnessed, Lily and Charlie were also victims of the car crash that took Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) life and that of ‘Hevon’s’ unborn child. That point, along with many unasked questions, projected mockery instead of justice. For example, statements steeped in emotion impact a judge’s ruling? What did those heartfelt speeches have to do with the facts?

The odd nature of this case could serve to form the basis of an appeal Michael (Christian Le Blanc) could make. But that hope lies in the future, meaning sometime in the summer of 2019.

Based on various past instances where Genoa City residents were written into prison, conflict with newly invented characters, or old faces resulted. Lily’s resolve will be tested in ways it never has been before, which will provide fresh drama for Khalil’s well-liked and long-standing character. However, Lily will go it alone as that happens, while her family also suffers.
