The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Faces Justice – Lane Comes Together

Lily (Christel Khalil) is trying to do the right thing on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Cane (Daniel Goddard) felt that way as well. But this Ashby pairing had starkly different visions of how Lily should respond to coming justice.

Cane was unwilling to allow his wife to face what he feels will be an unjust trial. So, he was in touch with his father, Colin (Tristan Rogers). Together they arranged for ‘Lane’ and their three children to abscond to Australia. Lily rejected Cane’s getaway plan the instant she learned of it, which was wise.

Litigious people seek answers to all problems under a subjective system known as the law. Western civilization’s attempt to handle human meanderings isn’t perfect, but it appears to be the best system realized in history. However, there have been, are, and likely will be instances were selected people become the cruel victims of fate.

Lily never intended to kill Hilary (Mishael Morgan). The idea that she purposely drove her vehicle through a red light, while Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) was in the back seat, is ludicrous. Lily also wasn’t under any influence and wasn’t texting while driving. She wasn’t aware of the traffic signal being red because of the argument that was being had with Hilary, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

The legal system was used to charge Mrs. Ashby with two counts of vehicular homicide. One applies to Hilary, the other to her unborn baby. The unnamed child died shortly after impact; the mother a handful of soapy days later.

At least Michael (Christian LeBlanc) is in Lily’s corner. He doesn’t always prevail, but consistently offers his clients the best possible defense.

Viewers may feel that Lily is destined to be remanded to prison for an undermined period of time. Of course she’s not going to be imprisoned for every, assuming that happens.

The current drama is serving to showcase the strength of this fully likeable family. Long past the Juliet (Laur Allen) saga, with Sam now part of the Ashby clan, its cool to see all fine actors within this storyline delivering engaging daytime drama to all Y&R fans.
