The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Caught Between Two Bosses – Ashley and Vickie Battle On

Lily (Christel Khalil) was glad that her position at Brash and Sassy was transitioned to Newman Enterprises on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She knew that Vickie’s (Amelia Heinle) approach as Chief Operating Officer at the conglomerate would be different, but didn’t anticipate Ashley (Eileen Davidson) also coming on board as Chief Innovation Officer, thereby trapping her between two bosses.

It’s always easiest to report to one person within any work environment. So, Lily thought that she’d be able to adapt to Vickie’s enhanced approach. Accepting a different type of role at Newman was something that Lily embraced for the good of her career. Then, Ashley stunningly left Jabot and accepted the Moustache’s offer to work in a newly carved spot in his company.

Both Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Devon (Bryton James) recognized Victor’s (Eric Braeden) strategy. Nikki asked her husband about it, while Devon spoke with Ashley. Pitting people against each other was the same topic subject in both discussions.

Victor told Nikki that competition between Vickie and Ashley was good. He also advised that while he’d like Victoria to be his future successor, that decision wasn’t set in stone.

Ashley played coy with Devon, who wondered why she was being so aggressive toward Vickie. Withheld within Ashley’s reply was a potential endgame where she waited out Vickie’s next exit from the company, thereby eliminating her only competition for the throne.

And that’s the setup. Lily was initially glad to have kept her job. But that slot with a major corporate player comes with unwanted benefits.

Ashley believed she’d poached Lily a few days ago. Vickie later asked Lily to post negative commentary on an employee social media feed. Remove the haughty titles and Ashley and Vickie come off as nothing higher than two bickering executives.

Lily’s being used as a human ping pong ball, which is beneath her dignity. If both of her bosses don’t watch out, she could end up working for Devon at the Hamilton Winters Group.
