As only both ladies knew, Lily and Hilary actually made amends just before Morgan’s character passed. If she lived, Hilary would likely testify on Lily’s behalf, though maybe not at first. That cheeky point is moot because Khalil’s character is about to learn her legal fate.
Michael (Christian LeBlanc) is one of Genoa City’s most outstanding lawyers. He’s overcome a criminal past that included stalking Christine (Lauralee Bell), as longtime fans recall. Michael’s earned redemption has fueled the fight for his clients since those 1990’s scenes were shown.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) had a heart-to-heart with her old friend. Together they spoke about Michael’s personal hope that Lily wouldn’t go to jail. Their discussion helped Phyllis to deal with her own mixed feelings, as Hilary recently became a good friend. Of course, Y&R wrote that pair as pals while Tracey Bregman (Lauren) wasn’t on-set during the past handful of months.
Lily’s unexpected encounter with Phyllis at the Hamilton-Winters Group’s executive staff office provided a soft scene for viewers. Tognoni’s edition offered Lily sympathy, whereas Michael’s friend, in the original form of Michelle Stafford, likely would have chewed out Mrs. Ashby.
All that’s happened in recent weeks also coincided with Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) desperate plan to fly the Ashby family away from expected trouble. Thankfully Lily fully rejected what would have been a foolish move. Michael concurred, as Lily felt comfortable in sharing that bit of ‘Lane’ information with her attorney, who is also a friend.
LeBlanc’s alter ego has been truthful with his client. He’s presented the likely consequence scenarios she could face in the courtroom and said that she should have her affairs in order in case the harshest outcome is realized.
Accidents happen all the time. This one was tragic, though it doesn’t feel like the driver of the vehicle that ran the red light deserves severe punishment. Whether Lily receives a fine, performs community service, has her license suspended, is placed under house arrest, or must spend time away from her family in a justice facility will soon be shown.
Yes, Y&R crafted a compelling write-out for Morgan. Follow through after that extremely dramatic climax is also proving to be engaging, which affirms good soap in daytime.
