The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lane Revival Hopes Furthered – Paris Trip Reaction Represents Progress

It’s been clear for awhile that Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) are interested in revival on ‘The Young and the Restless’. This marriage hasn’t been fully healed, but has moved into a hopeful period of rapprochement.

Both party’s reaction to Lily’s Paris trip was revealing. Mrs. Ashby’s instant reaction when asked by Vickie (Amelia Heinle) to put work ahead of family was to resist. Lily then fronted for her boss, claiming that she’d be okay with it. Victor’s (Eric Braeden) daughter understood, as she and Abby (Melissa Ordway) listened, that the Newman’s view of business over human value often undermines what’s truly important.

Cane was pleased to learn that Lily hasn’t gotten over him, as he also hasn’t moved past her. His wife told him that when she saw him later at the Chancellor mansion.

Lily told her husband about the trip and asked if he could watch the twins. Cane said that wouldn’t be a problem, as the estate was an expansive space.

One wonders if it wouldn’t be better to have Cane move back to the Ashby home, which could help to further this family’s renewal? But, like Sam in the future, ‘Lane’ will take baby steps back to each other (fans hope).

Cane and Lily also spoke about the third child in this blended family’s mix. Sam is a reminder of Juliet (Laur Allen), but he’s also, likely, an eventual key to Lily’s heart.

As Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) said, his mom loves kids and she loves him (Cane). That cogent point, offered by a standup young man to his father, telegraphs what can, or will, be ‘Lane’s’ hoped-for future.

With however the Paris business assignment goes, Lily and Cane were finally open with each other. It took a pending separation to produce conversation results. But ‘Lane’ now knows love persists, which is what matters. As for tomorrow, or the rest of the winter, persistence is the path to eventual, full revival.

Y&R fans foresee a vowel renewal ceremony in Paris, where ‘Lane’ was once beautifully remarried. This projected event would be perfect with Lily, Cane, Charlie, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Sam in attendance.
