The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle Plays Long Game – Billy Next to Go At Jabot

Kyle (Michael Mealor) has a plan on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Jack (Peter Bergman) wanted Kyle to leave Jabot with him, but he opted to stay at the family company. Billy (Jason Thompson) is in charge, but won’t be for long. And then, there’s Ashley (Eileen Davidson).

Ashley has asked Kyle to work with her. She needs to keep an eye on Billy. At the same time Billy believes, or projects the notion, that Kyle is working for him. Neither is true, as Mealor’s clever character is pursuing his own agenda.

Mealor has fit nicely into Y&R’s cast. He’s the latest recast of this character. Today’s Kyle is a schemer, which mimics the classic Jack Abbott demeanor.

To his credit, Kyle admitted he was wrong in working with Victor (Eric Braeden) to bring down Jack. That realization led to full, sincere turn back to his father.

Since that point Kyle has been fully loyal, especially where Jack’s paternity search is concerned. At the moment many soap fans probably feel like father and son could remain Abbott’s, but there’s no telling what Y&R’s final climax to this arc will look like. In the meantime, as Jack takes his noted paternity search pause, Kyle is playing the long game at Jabot.

Devoted viewers know that Eileen Davidson announced her departure from the cast. So it’s possible that Ashley will be leaving Genoa City in the fall, unless this character is recast.

With his dad’s search continuing, Billy’s gambling and relationship problems about to do him in, Ashley potentially leaving, and Abby (Melissa Ordway) switching from Newman Enterprises to Dark Horse, Kyle could be the last person standing, besides Gloria (played by the great Judith Chapman), inside Jabot’s executive suite.

If Jack confirms he’s an Abbott, he’ll be back as Jabot’s Chief Executive Officer. If not and despite the blood Abbott clause, Kyle is positioning himself to grab the brass ring, or at least reach for it.
