The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle Gives Victor Damaging Information – Jack About to Be Blindsided

Kyle (Michael Mealor) isn’t a good son on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He’s gone on and on about his father’s supposed faults, while again allying himself with Victor (Eric Braeden). Yes, these developments mean that Jack (Peter Bergman) is about to be blindsided, again.

As Y&R fans recall, Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) idea was a good one. She wanted to preserve her grandmother’s memories while Dina (Marla Adams) was still able to speak about a rather checkered past. Well, that happened and what Madame Mergeron revealed was quite a whopper.

Secretly armed with the explosive footage Abby and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) thought they destroyed in the Abbott family’s fireplace, Kyle pondered his next step, or move as he deemed it. Instead of going to his dad, like any normal son would, Kyle opted to use the knowledge he gained and set up a meeting with Victor at the Ranch.

The idea of trading Jack’s heritage for a job at Newman Enterprises is as shallow as it comes. Beyond that, Kyle is unbelievably naive.

To his credit, Victor actually told Kyle that he’d signed the ‘Moustache’ in the past. Mealor’s entitled character just bad-mouthed Nick (Joshua Morrow) shortly after Victor’s on-again son had left. That elicited a sour reaction from the recovering Genoa City tycoon.

Kyle somehow believes that Jack’s rightful wrath will be offset by Victor’s protection within the walls at Newman. Really?

The imminent Abbott family party will become a public spectacle, as buzz indicates Jack’s paternity drop will happen then. Kyle’s betrayal might be exposed then. Victor will use the opportunity to damage Jack and possibly, Jabot.

“Kyle, why would you do such a thing!”, unsmilin’ Jack will exclaim at some point. Then the script’s pages will turn and the latest engaging movement in the refreshed Newman-Abbott battle will unfold. Yes, this telegraphs to good soap as provoked through the self-promoting style of Kyle Abbott, or whatever his true last name will prove to be.

One final note to the audience, the choice of Mealor as the Kyle recast is generating good, early returns. This actor has begun carving a fresh take on this character. Kudos.
