The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle Can Sink Billy’s Boat – Jabot Games Ramped Up

Kyle (Michael Mealor) was trying to save Summer (Hunter King) from herself on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But the bold move he made in telling Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) about Summer’s ‘Silly’ plan also yielded critical information that could sink Billy’s (Jason Thompson) boat.

The cheeky implication of the last sentence written is that Summer’s reveal about Billy’s gambling loss of Jaboat gave Kyle a weapon to use in the ongoing Jabot power struggle. Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) recent request for deeper information has seemingly been realized.

Summer blurted out that she was mesmerized by Billy having lost Jaboat in a poker game, but possessing the gusto to win enough money to later buy the company yacht back from Sinead (Lira Kellerman). Kyle’s eyes bulged at the gift Billy’s admirer gave to him at the Genoa City rooftop bar.

Mealor’s character has been playing the long game. After ditching sabotage plans he made with Victor (Eric Braeden) to overthrow his father, Kyle reconciled with Jack (Peter Bergman). However, he opted not to join his dad when Jack learned of his apparent non-Abbott status and vacated Jabot’s Chief Executive Officer’s chair.

Ashley intends to somehow take over for Billy when, not if, he’s ousted. The blood-Abbott clause will be rescinded in conjunction with that move. But Davidson’s character doesn’t seem to recognize that another non-Abbott, Kyle, is also a real threat.

Davidson announced her voluntary exit from the show this summer, with her final recorded scenes to be shown this fall. Unless a recast is in play, Ashley could be assumed pushed-out of the Jabot picture by that time. Jabot’s current lead chemist, Ashley, won’t resist confronting Billy with what she’ll come to know about his misuse of company funds.

However, as of now it seems as though Kyle, or a returned Jack, will be primed to take over. Both men could also have their Abbott blood ties restored in the near future as well. One, the other, or both will surely use Billy’s intentional accounting misdirect, and possibly his own to-be-revealed non-Abbott status, as evidence to push the current CEO overboard.
