The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Kyle and Tessa Connect – New Hot Y&R Couple?

Noah (Robert Adamson) departed Genoa City on ‘The Young and the Restless’ a handful of months ago. But Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) just reappeared in Genoa City. Add Kyle (Michael Mealor) into the mix and Y&R might just have its next summer (wink) couple.

Of course the summer reference in the lead paragraph purposely implied the return of Hunter King’s character, Summer. She and Kyle (as played by Lachlan Buchanan before Mealor took over this year) used to be an item before Mr. Abbott, or whatever his last name really is, moved to New York as part of Buchanan’s write-out.

It’s the right time bring up Mariah (Camryn Grimes) at this point. She, Tessa, and Kyle were heading to the movies together as an unexpected trio. Yes, Y&R will continue to tease possibilities as these converging storylines could morph in various directions.

As for Kyle, he’s clearly interested in LP Streaming’s benched singer, slash musician. It feels like Tessa’s entrance into his view is being established so that Summer’s early-June return will spark conflict. Kyle assumes involvement is likely based upon his ego, but possibly he’s misreading things in order to throw off the audience.

Separately, Jack’s (Peter Bergman) apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree. In fact, it’s directly within the shadow of papa Abbott’s (or whatever his last name really is) relationship shadow.

Fairbanks character was a welcomed addition to the cast when she debuted last year. Miss Porter quickly became engrained in the Newman family through Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) encouragement. There was the link to the aforementioned Noah and his sister Mariah and then a total soapy fallout occurred.

Y&R intended to sideline the Tessa character for awhile and then bring her back in refreshed circumstances. That’s what’s happening now.

The Kyle recast is working nicely, as Mealor is a good actor who plays a young Jack rather well. Pairing him between Tessa and Summer should prove intriguing. Of course that assumes that either lady chooses Jabot’s junior executive.
