The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Kyle and Summer’s Spark Remains – Lola Love Triangle Brewing

Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) still care about each other, to a certain degree, on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Their historic tie implies a natural challenge as ‘Kola’ forms.

What is ‘Kola’? That’s the mashed nickname Y&R fans seem to be embracing regarding the show’s newest forming couple, Kyle and Lola (Sasha Calle). The success of this duo will be determined, in part, by whether the created moniker becomes increasingly popular.

Calle’s recent debut on the show increased the Rosales’ family to three. Arturo (Jason Canela), Lola’s brother, debuted earlier this year and Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), their other brother, first appeared last month.

Y&R’s newest clan became the first entirely new family to be written into the show since Michael Baldwin’s (Christian Le Blanc) backstory was expanded to include his brother, Kevin (Greg Rikaart) in 2003. Gloria (Judith Chapman), their mother, was created in 2005.

Lola appears to be the opposite of Summer, which projects as a key part of the intended conflict. Calle’s character comes from a working class family, as opposed to Summer’s wealthy Newman clan.

Summer is an heir to millions of dollars and was given a position at Fenmore’s retail chain’s headquarters because her mom, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) works there. Lola is the founder and owner of a street cart-based food business.

However, Summer and Lola do share a healthy attitude about themselves. As viewers saw, Lola asked Kyle when he was going to ask her out which took place at Crimson Lights. That unplanned encounter was only the third time each person had seen the other.

Both ladies also share family strife. Viewers are well-versed in Summer’s family trials. Unknown conflict that affected Lola appears to be based in Rey having somehow lost Arturo’s trust due to an issue that appears related to their father.

So, Kyle decided that he wants no further contact with the woman he’s been connected to for years. He’s recently met a woman who offers a fresh relationship start. That makes Lola Summer’s natural enemy.
