Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) wants power on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) is more pragmatic, as her first goal is to preserve Jabot. Together their take-down plan for Billy (Jason Thompson) is a dangerous risk.
Telling Ashley about what he learned from Summer (Hunter King) was the right thing to do. Kyle advised his aunt that Billy lost Jaboat in a poker game, then won enough money back to reclaim the million-dollar-plus company yacht. Along the way Thompson’s character borrowed Jabot funds so he could replay his gambling nemesis, Sinead (Lira Kellerman).
Ashley felt they could go to Jabot’s Board of Directors with existing information, but that Billy would likely talk his way out of it. So Kyle suggesting luring Billy back to the poker table, thereby creating a second shovel full of dirt to throw on the reckless Chief Executive Officer’s self-created grave. In so doing a pattern would have been established that the Board couldn’t deny and Billy would be ousted.

As Y&R viewers recall, Ashley and Jack (Peter Bergman) were on board with having their little, so-called brother, take the reigns at John Abbott’s company. That became necessary when Dina (Marla Adams) divulged that Jackie supposedly wasn’t John’s biological son.
Jack’s dusty blood-Abbott clause still sits within the pages of Jabot’s bylaws, which means that only Billy, or Traci (Beth Maitland) is allowed to be CEO. Traci doesn’t have the background, or interest, and also lives out of town. So, Billy became the default figurehead, or so Ashley thought.
Billy rejected the seasoned council Ashley offered upon his ascension to power. John’s apparent only bio-child instead opted to make various risky business decisions, which included the recently uncovered Jaboat fiasco.
Ashley decided to proceed with Kyle’s shady plan. But considering the underbelly of the gambling world, Billy’s life could be put in danger. It’s also possible that Billy catches on and turns the poker table on his sister and nephew, which could lead to their ejection from Jabot.
