Ideally, both siblings would have agreed to run Jabot together. Yes, co-CEO’s has and will have a good ring to it. Once Jack recovers from the shock of seeing Ashley behave like a child, he might reassess the situation and offer that option to his sister.

There’s no doubt that Ashley is a brilliant chemist and has developed excellent executive skills over the years. However, she never suggested a power-share as part of the arbitration. Like Jack, she wanted to be the one in charge. How exactly did that make her outlook on the business and life better than Jack’s?

With whatever her decision-making process, the arbitrator felt that Jack must have been justified in creating the family clause years ago. He didn’t just claim to have done so in response to his ex-wife’s actions at that time. No, that was actually why he had the Jabot board, sans Ashley, vote that no one but blood could become CEO.

Jack played dirty in the recent past when he openly advised, without using the last name, that Ashley is actually a Davis. Newer viewers may not know that Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) and Dina (Marla Adams) cavorted behind John’s back years ago, thus producing Ashley.

John apparently never learned that biological fact, but Ashley did in the mid-1980’s. That led to a major fallout with Dina and a still-tense relationship with Madame Mergeron as of 2018.

Jack and Ashley are very much alike. They are also, in their hearts, good people. So here’s hoping that this brother and sister duo makes amends, eventually.
