The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack’s Road To Recovery – Broken Man Returns Like A Lion!

Jack (Peter Bergman) has exhibited many traits through the years on ‘The Young and the Restless’. One of them is resilience. Yes, the ‘Comeback Kid’ is once again trying to regain his mojo by creating personal momentum.

Referring to Jack as a kid isn’t meant as a knock. Instead, it evokes the paternity question. As of the moment, he isn’t believed to be John’s (Jerry Douglas) son. Whether that apparent fact remains in place forever is a question.

In soap land anything is possible. So Jack could suddenly revert to being an Abbott and kick Billy (Jason Thompson) out of the Jabot’s Chief Executive Officer’s chair in the near future. That could mean that Billy is proven to not be an Abbott due to Jill’s (Jess Walton) past dalliance, rather than Dina’s (Marla Adams).

In the meantime, Jack has no job. But, John’s wealth hasn’t left ‘Jackie’ a pauper. Instead, he’s rooming at the Genoa City Athletic Club where the rates are likely in the high three-figures per night. Oh wait, Jack’s a member. So he’s receiving a discount as well.

Knowing that Jack won’t have to move into a one-bedroom at the New Hope housing project later this summer is relieving. That affords him the opportunity to pitch his wares to anyone who will listen. Said ears haven’t been interested to-date in what’s being offered, but that will soon change.

No, Jack won’t accept Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) offer to help get him a job at Newman Enterprises, though that would surely be soapy fun if it ever happened. Instead, the next step in this character’s odyssey involves a new job and maybe, a romantic adventure.

Jack needs to start smilin’ again soon so his nickname can be used correctly. That begins to happen when he advances his career pursuits. How and when his paternity shocker is resolved is a separate question. Though tenured soap fans likely feel Y&R will let that part of his storyline play out for awhile.
