So Jack (Peter Bergman) apparently isn’t an Abbott after all on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Unless further information is offered, Bergman’s character is about to begin searching for the father he never knew. Whether that man proves to still be alive, or not is the leading issue, unless, of course, the cited DNA test was tampered with by you-know-who.
Would it be out of the question to wonder if Victor (Eric Braeden) somehow interfered with Jack’s paternity test? No. That’s probably more likely than Billy (Jason Thompson) proving not to be an Abbott. Though that storyline switch will be explored shortly as well.
Kyle (Michael Mealor) has been dealing with soapy emotions for years. The previously SORAS’d and again recast character held a full grudge against his dad until recently. Some Dina (Marla Adams) related family experiences have cooled Kyle’s jets, but not by much.
It’s already been revealed that Kyle had Ravi (Abhi Sinha) recover the seemingly lost footage that exists on the charred memory stick. That and Jack’s son’s enduring connection to Victor portends to ongoing trouble as the public paternity reveal Oz is pursued.
Imagine, alternatively, that both Traci and Billy aren’t John’s (Jerry Douglas) children. Seemingly implausible, but possible considering the reputations of Dina and Jill (Jess Walton). And yes, when people repeatedly break their vows they earn call-outs. Doing so creates lifestyle choice consequences that others can consider before opting to follow probably bad examples.
Traci (Beth Maitland) recently had her paternity questioned. It would make sense if Maitland’s alter ego is removed from the bloodline, as her regular presence within the cast in recent months would then be explained.
As for Billy, he’ll be crushed if Jill ever admits to having had him through anyone other than John, assuming she had a DNA test conducted back in the day (before Billy was SORAS’d himself). But Y&R’s tenured fans know Jill was clearly capable of having been involved with another man at the same time that she coerced John into becoming a father.

Finally, assume that Jack actually isn’t an Abbot, as has now twice been pushed through supposedly legit scientific test results. Dina hasn’t been able to recall this man’s name. So the question then remains, who is Jack Whoever’s father?
